It became known as the Red Carpet Hotel by taxi drivers who identified it because of the luxurious red carpet at the entrance. Guests arriving by car should follow the M1 South to Johannesburg and take the Grayston Drive exit. At the traffic-lights turn right over the bridge and past the traffic-lights, keeping to the extreme left lane. Turn into Katherine Street and keep to the right lane. Turn right into 5th Street (look for signs to Sandton City), go straight over 2 traffic lights and the hotel is on the left.
