Like most Arabo-Andalusian-style houses, life in the two-storey riad centres around a tree-planted courtyard. Hotel location description

This charming guesthouse is only 8 minutes' walk from the main Jemma el Fnaa square and just 2 minutes from the Ben Youssef Medersa, the Marrakech Museum, Ben Salah square and the East entrance of the souks (covered markets). Access by car is very difficult as the streets are very narrow. Guests must therefore book a taxi in advance as the ones available at the airport are expensive and will leave them relatively far from the riad. Marrakech train station is approximately a 10-minute drive from the riad and Menara Airport is around 6 km away.

Room description

Each room features an en suite bathroom with a shower, bathtub and hairdryer. Further in-room amenities include a double bed, hi-fi, Internet access and individually regulated air conditioning and central heating units. Guests may also relax on their private balcony or terrace.

Sport activities description

The outdoor swimming pool, set in the centre of the courtyard (not heated), leaves plenty of space for the splendid palm trees. Guests may also relax on the sun terrace with the sun loungers and parasols provided. Guest may relax in the hamam or choose from a range of spa and massage treatments (fees apply to both). Karmela, the establishment's partner riad, located 150 m away, will help in assisting guests to organise excursions.

Meal service description

A continental Moroccan breakfast is served on the patio or roof terrace in the summer. Dinner is served in the Riad Karmela, which is only 150 m away.

Arriving by car: The best option is to get to Baab Ghmat, east of the Medina, and to go straight along Lycee Mohamed V to Ben Salah square. This will be a big challenge as Marrakech has very poor signs. There is no access to the medina at certain times of day and the narrow streets are exceptionally busy at night. Guests should ask a small taxi to take them to Ben Salah square and then ask Rehal, one of the local porters based on the square.

Comments from hotel

The riad has limited staff in house, 1 person in the morning and 1 in the evening but staff is covered 24/24. Access is challenging as no street names in the medina so organising transfert prior to arrival is a must.
